IPHCA Health Policy Committee Meeting
Join us for the April eClinicalWorks (eCW) User Group, where we’ll focus on the HEDIS Well‑Child Visits measure. This session will be an open, collaborative discussion centered on how health centers are using eCW to successfully meet and improve performance on this important quality metric.
We invite participants to come prepared to share their workflows and best practices across the organization—including front office, call center, and clinical staff. Together, we’ll explore how teams are leveraging eCW tools such as alerts, reminders, templates, smart forms, and other system functionality to support timely well‑child visits and ensure measure compliance.
This is a great opportunity to learn from peers, exchange real‑world strategies, and gain practical ideas you can take back to your organization. We’re excited to hear how health centers are using eCW to support staff and drive success with the Well‑Child Visits measure.
This session provides an in depth look at Indiana’s Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) and Pre Employment Transition Services (Pre ETS), the primary programs supporting students and young adults with disabilities as they explore careers and pursue employment. We’ll also touch briefly on additional state and community resources that complement VR and Pre ETS for families seeking next steps.
Please join us for the upcoming Clinical Leadership Call on April 24, 2026, featuring Paula Pettis-Garrett, Survivorship and Clinical Trials Education Lead for the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement at the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. Paula will present on cancer survivorship care planning, including how the National Cancer Institute defines a cancer survivor, the purpose and core components of Survivorship Care Plans, and key considerations related to long-term and late effects of cancer and treatment. She will also address the psychosocial impact of survivorship, recommended screenings, and provide an overview of childhood cancer survivorship, including associated risks and long-term effects. This session is intended to support clinical leaders in strengthening their understanding of survivorship needs and improving whole-person care for patients across the continuum.
Following the presentation, we will hold an open-peer discussion. Participants are encouraged to bring questions, challenges, or cases they would like to discuss with fellow clinical leaders.
The call will also include IPHCA updates, including upcoming events, initiatives, and opportunities relevant to clinical and operational leadership.
We look forward to a collaborative and engaging conversation.
This will be the regular bimonthly meeting of the IPHCA Value-Based Learning Series. The session topic this month will cover PCMH Principle Knowing and Managing Your Patients. For our fifth data hygiene session, Kara Gee from Azara will be focusing on mapping for two cancer screening metrics: colorectal and lung.
FHIR is the plumbing—not the dashboard. This session will focus on how health IT teams can move beyond “having FHIR available” to activating simple, low‑cost use cases that reduce manual work, standardize data across EHRs, and turn interoperable data into real operational value.
MCH Champions will bring together maternal and child health professionals, partners, and advocates to exchange ideas, highlight successful programs, and explore best practices in maternal and child health. This will take place through training sessions, technical assistance, and support for quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing perinatal and pediatric outcomes.
Join us for an informative call featuring a presentation from Baby & Me Tobacco Free. This session will provide valuable insights into the program’s mission, available resources, and how it supports tobacco-free lifestyles for pregnant individuals and families. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the program’s impact and ask questions during the discussion.
