Indiana Navigators

An Indiana Navigator is licensed through the Indiana Department of Insurance to provide free, unbiased application assistance for Indiana Health Coverage Programs such as the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), Hoosier Healthwise, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Indiana Navigators also provide consumer outreach and education and assist with special enrollments, exemptions, and appeals.

Federal Navigators

Federal Navigators are selected and funded by the Federal Government to provide free, unbiased application assistance.

Certified Application Counselors

A Certified Application Counselor (CAC) is certified through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to provide free, unbiased application assistance on the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace.

CACs also help individuals understand their health coverage, apply for special enrollment periods and exemptions, and file appeals.
