CHC Finance and Operations Manager

Drew Thomas received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with a double minor in Public Health and Interpersonal Relations from Ball State University.  Drew comes to IPHCA with a strong Medicaid background including outreach and enrollment at Covering Kids and Families, contract compliance and project management at the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP), and a myriad of positions with St. Francis Health Network. Drew has worked in various Medicaid roles since August of 2001 and joined IPHCA in May of 2015.

Role at IPHCA
Guides and supports participating FQHCs in capital and readiness planning by providing targeted training, and linking to appropriate resources
Supports health center financial management and sustainability, value-based payment, and alternative payment methodologies with a special focus on Indiana’s Medicaid program 
Leads peer to peer meetings which focus on increasing financial and operations solvency of health centers
Acts as a liaison between CHCs and various organizations including but not limited to state and federal agencies and their contractors
Represents the interests of CHCs at various functions including state and federal initiatives, and conferences
Evaluates public policy and legislation at both the state and federal levels, advancing the mission of community health centers
Works closely with Indiana’s Family Social Services Administration/the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning, federal health care agencies, Congress and other advocacy organizations
