Indiana Loan Repayment Programs

National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program:

Licensed primary care clinicians in eligible disciplines have the opportunity to receive loan repayment assistance through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program (NHSC LRP).
In exchange for loan repayment, you serve at least two years of service at an NHSC-approved site in a designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).

You have a choice of service options:
• Two year full-time clinical practice at an NHSC-approved site.
• Two year half-time clinical practice at an NHSC-approved site.

You will receive up to $50,000 to repay your outstanding, qualifying, educational loans. NHSC loan repayment funds are exempt from federal income and employment taxes.

Indiana State Loan Repayment Program

The Indiana Health Care Professional Recruitment and Retention Fund Program (IHCPRRF) provides loan repayment for student loans incurred by health care professionals to encourage the full-time delivery of health care in shortage areas.

The program is administered by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) Division of Chronic Disease, Primary Care and Rural Health.

Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for fiscal year (FY) 2021 for the Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program. This program will increase the number of dental and dental hygiene faculty in the workforce. Grantees will create and manage a loan repayment program for individuals who serve as full-time dental faculty.

Eligible applicants are:

  • Programs of general, pediatric or public health dentistry in public or private nonprofit dental or dental hygiene schools
  • Approved residency in general, pediatric, or public health dentistry
  • Advanced education programs in the practice of general, pediatric, or public health dentistry
