Workplace Mental Health Toolkit
According to MHA’s Mind the Workplace 2022 report, 78% of workers agree that workplace stress affects their mental health, and 7 in 10 workers find it difficult to concentrate at work. This stress can negatively impact workers’ well- being, productivity, job satisfaction, and retention.
With Walgreens’ support, Mental Health America (MHA) created its first-ever Workplace Mental Health Toolkit: Creating a Culture of Support and Well-being – to help organizations develop the foundation for a mentally healthy workplace.
The toolkit provides organizational leadership, human resources, people managers, and workers resources to improve workplace culture and benefits that support mental health. Whether this is your first foray into considering mental health in the workplace or it’s been part of your playbook for years, you will find fact sheets, printable posters and postcards, checklists, drop-in articles, resource guides, and more to help meet your needs.
In this toolkit, employers can develop or improve upon existing workplace policies that uplift workers, ensure that they feel valued and heard, and improve the overall culture of well-being within an organization in the following ways:
- Cultivate supportive people managers;
- Develop an employee-driven mental health strategy;
- Build an impactful mental health employee resource group;
- Provide and educate employees about benefits; and
- Provide support for a healthy life-work blend.
