April is Medicaid Awareness Month

This April, advocates and activists across the country will highlight Medicaid’s vital importance in our communities. Medicaid is especially critical as the nation responds to the coronavirus pandemic, providing key funding for hospitals and helping patients get the care they need. 

Research confirms that Medicaid expansion increases access to care, improves financial security, and leads to better health outcomes.  Medicaid expansion has played a vital role in reducing racial disparities in healthcare access.  12 years after it became law, and despite endless efforts to repeal and sabotage it, the Affordable Care Act is stronger than ever.
