The Program Strategy Map

Developed by the Bridgespan Group, the program strategy map is a tool you can use to visualize and evaluate the performance of your health center’s programs. It uses two dimensions—alignment with goals for impact and financial sustainability—to create four quadrants. Each quadrant raises a set of questions for you to consider about the programs that fall within it. The map paints a picture of how your unique set of programs is contributing to your mission and financial health. It can help you better understand and make decisions about those programs.
The Program Strategy Map can be shared and used by different levels of your health center. It is also an effective communication tool to inform staff, leadership, funders, and community stakeholders about decision-making process for new programs.
