IPHCA Dental Assistant Training Program

IPHCA Dental Assistant Training Program

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Dental Assistant Online Training Program!

Dental Assistant National Board

In response to member requests, we have carefully evaluated various online programs, we’ve chosen the prestigious Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) / Dental Advancement through Learning and Education (DALE) Foundation Framework online curriculum. This allows IPHCA to seamlessly provide and facilitate the training for your staff.

Our program is designed to alleviate the administrative burden on CHC dental programs while providing comprehensive training and support for aspiring Dental Assistants. IPHCA will assign and monitor the program progress of participants. The curriculum includes practice tests and review courses to prepare students for DANB’s National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification exam.

Each course, taking approximately 12 hours to complete, covers essential topics such as tooth anatomy, instrument processing, and dental radiography. Skill logs for each module will support hands-on training, mirroring on-the-job experiences.

Students will have unlimited access to the materials for six months, allowing them to review and practice at their own pace. Our ultimate goal is to equip Dental Assistants with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in dentistry.

  • IPHCA will provide access links/codes to registered dental assistants, and skill logs will be provided for each selected module to support the hands-on training. Each student will have unlimited access during their six-month window so they can review the materials and practice as much as they’d like.
  • IPHCA will provide the Steps to Complete the Indiana Radiology Program to obtain the Provisional Permit by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) which means The Dental Assistant student can take x-rays in the dental office under the supervision of the dentist. The Provisional Permit is good for 6 months from the date of issue. IT CAN NOT BE RENEWED.
  • IPHCA will provide the Indiana CHCs that employ the trainee with training progress and completion reports for each individual enrolled.
  • IPHCA will regularly connect with the staff assigned by the CHC Dental program to discuss the progress of their DA students. Trainees may re-take modules if necessary.
