Third meeting between Community Health Centers in Indiana, Managed Care Entities, and the State of Indiana to discuss billing and operations issues. The goal of this in person meeting is to understand systemic problems with Medicaid billing, operations, and procedures and to discuss possible solutions, promising practices, and future actions with all stakeholders in attendance.

IPHCA will hold our Quarterly Claims and Operations meeting on September 10 10:00-12:00 Eastern Time with the MCEs, DXC and the FSSA to discuss billing and operation concerns your health center may be experiencing. Unfortunately, Jennifer White (FSSA) who was scheduled to speak about the Core/PPS Wrap project at our Claims and Operations meeting, recently resigned. I haven’t been able to secure a replacement speaker for her so we may need to table further Core/PPS questions for another meeting.

As with last time, lunch will not be served and we are not requesting the MCEs or State make formal presentations. A call-in number will not be available as it is an in-person meeting only.


Excel Spreadsheet Instructions


If you have a billing or operation concern and would like to have it addressed at this meeting, please populate the attached tracking tool (“TEMPLATE”) and return it to Drew thomas ( by Close of Business August 19th. As you may recall, I changed the meeting’s format last quarter and allowed for spontaneous questions rather than tabling questions not on the excel sheet for end of the meeting. Surveys from the last meeting indicate many of you would prefer that questions submitted on the excel sheet should be addressed first and spontaneous questions are tabled at the end. For this reason and due to the recent increase in question volume, we will work through the excel questions first and address any spontaneous questions at the end of the meeting as time allows. IPHCA is requesting the financial impact of your concern in an effort to provide HRSA return on investment figures for some of our meetings. Please see column N, labeled “Financial Impact (estimate)” and provide your best dollar estimate. The Financial Impact column isn’t applicable to your questions regarding the Core/PPS project. If any of your concerns noted within previously submitted quarterly meeting tool are still outstanding, please put it back on the tool and note it as Q12019 or Q22019 depending on when you initially added it to the excel tool.

The “Example Tab” reflects a scenario where the fictitious health center’s “Same Day Billing” issue was not resolved since June’s meeting.  In this scenario, the old issue is noted as Q2 whereas the new issues should be populated as Q32019. The scenario also includes an estimated dollar amount for “Financial Impact.”
