Forums

Among IPHCA's primary communication channels are three Forums, which periodically bring IPHCA members together to discuss topics of mutual concern, depending on the organizations they represent and their interests.

These three Forums are:
-
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Forum
- State-Funded Health Center Forum
- Clinical Leadership Forum

FQHC Forum
Many Health Centers receive Federal funding through the Bureau of Primary Health Care (part of the US Department of Health and Human Services).  These facilities are generally referred to as Federally Qualified Health Centers, or FQHCs, a term that can include Community Health Centers, Migrant Health Centers, Health Care for the Homeless Health Centers, and Primary Care Public Housing Health Centers.  Other similar organizations meet Federal requirements but do not receive Federal funds; these are designated as Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alikes (FQHCLAs).  FQHCs and FQHCLAs that are members of IPHCA meet together regularly in the FQHC Forum.

State-Funded Health Center Forum
This Forum consists of organizational primary care provider members that receive funding through the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), from tobacco settlement monies channeled to the state.  The focus of the Forum is to address the special needs of health care programs at these Centers.

Clinical Leadership Forum
Membership in the Clinical Leadership Forum (CLF) is open to all health professionals of IPHCA member organizations, as well as to individual IPHCA members who are health professionals. The CLF meets at least quarterly and is chaired by a member of IPHCA's Board of Directors.
