Physicians and other nedical providers are in the process of converting
paper health records to electronic health record systems (EHR). Many other
industries, such as banking, have already made the transition to digital
records.
Providers with electronic health records can join networks for health
information exchange (HIE). These networks give providers the ability
to electronically transmit an individuals health records. Ecentially,
a single health record can be developed for a person with multiple physicuans.
